Building Resilient Communities in Conflict-Affected Countries
About this Project
In fragile and conflict-affected countries, civil strife pins communities against each other as spoilers manipulate existing tensions, deepening fault lines and fracturing relationships. This course introduced future policy-makers, strategic planners, and program implementers to concepts surrounding resilience; the impact of violent conflict on social cohesion; and interventions that rebuild patterns of trust networks and communication.
Through experiential learning, students are exposed to a series of practical tools to help them identify change-makers, heal the harm done by violence, restore relationships and build local grievance mechanisms to strengthen community resilience.
