We do so by advancing the understanding of complex crisis through comprehensive conflict analysis and assessments; facilitating inclusive and sustainable conflict resolution dialogue processes; and ensuring knowledge transfer and ownership to empower local peacemakers.

 

 

Internship Description

CIT is seeking an unpaid Business Development (BD) intern to provide the CEO with a wide range of support to grow and diversify CIT’s funding base.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic business plan geared towards expanding CIT from consulting to program management
  • Conduct research on potential funding sources
  • Register CIT will relevant funding mechanism and institutions that support its growth
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals, including, but not limited to writing, editing and reviewing proposal narratives, budgets and annexes
  • Support the management of proposals from start to finish as appropriate, including interaction with key funders and prime organizations
  • Research and evaluate potential national and international partners
  • Support the identification and outreach to potential funders (governments, multilaterals, foundations and NGO)
  • Track potential business development opportunities, grants and awards and provide analysis of donor trends
  • Assist in the analysis of program budgets and expenditure data
  • Provide general administrative tasks, including recordkeeping and data management, as needed

 

Qualifications:

  • Current student or recent graduate with a Masters’ degree in Business Administration, Business Development, Grant Writing, Non-Profit Management or other related field
  • Background in International Relations, Conflict Studies and/or International Development preferred
  • Written and spoken fluency in English
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Internet Search Engines)
  • Prior experience writing proposals, developing project budgets and work plans preferred
  • Ability to work remotely with independent access to the internet and a computer

 

The ideal candidate will further exhibit:

  • A self-starting, entrepreneurial and flexible approach to the organization and the position
  • Passionate about mediation, dialogue circles, restorative justice and the conflict resolution field in general
  • Experience in fundraising and conflict resolution
  • Demonstrable interest in creating partnerships with other organizations and donors to advance conflict prevention
  • Experience in business development or with donor agencies
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and tight deadlines with minimal supervision
