Amb. David Greenlee

Job Title: 

Ambassador (ret.) David Greenlee retired from the Foreign Service in 2006 after a 32 year career.  As a consultant, he has worked on issues related to the establishment of the U.S. Africa Command and served as a senior advisor in the Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operations (CSO) at the State Department.  He was ambassador to Bolivia (2003-2006), ambassador to Paraguay  (2000-2003) and, with ambassador rank, U.S. delegate and chair of the Israel-Lebanon Monitoring Group (1996-97), among other postings.

Prior to his career with the State Department, he was a U.S. Army Lieutenant and served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Bolivia. His military decorations include the Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster and the Vietnam Service Medal. Ambassador Greenlee received a BA from Yale University and is a graduate of the National War College.  His primary foreign language is Spanish.
