At the invitation of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) and Sant'Egidio, CIT provided support to Civil Society Organizations and local authorities in Bangui, Bouar, and Kaga Bandoro and Berberati on the "African Initiative for Peace and Reconciliation" roadmap led by the AU.

CIT accompanied the technical committee led by Amb. Nahayo, head of the ECCAS CAR Liaison Office, which is tasked to support the AU panel of mediators.

During that time, CIT provided non-violent communication training to participants. In Bangui, CIT also trained members of the National Assembly in preparation for the upcoming negotiations between the Government and 14 armed groups.
