Over the past year, CIT grew from a 1 person start-up consulting firm to opening its first country office in the Central African Republic. To meet the challenges of this exciting new opportunity, CIT is seeking to hire an entrepreneurial individual to help support the growth of the company.

The Executive Assistant will work from home and may be asked to periodically attend meetings in Washington, DC.

 

 

Job Description

CIT is hiring a part-time bilingual Executive Assistant to work from home 2 days per week to support the work of the CEO, Nathalie Al-Zyoud. Tasks will be primarily administrative but the assistant may also be called to do presentations for the CEO and attend meetings on behalf of the CEO. The Executive Assistant will be asked to complete assignments in both French and English.

Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing general administrative, human resource, logistic and financial support.
  • Preparing financial statements, reports, memos, invoices letters, and other documents
  • Handling basic bookkeeping
  • Researching human resource, security, logistics and financial information
  • Gathering data to prepare documents for review and presentation to the board of directors, partners and donors
  • Drafting concept papers and write grant proposals and compiles financial information for budgets
  • Helping prepare for meetings
  • Accurately recording minutes from meetings
  • Using various software, including word, excels, PowerPoint, and mail chimp
  • Proof reading documents
  • Making travel arrangements
  • Performing office duties that include ordering supplies and managing a records database
  • Engage in marketing, writing blogs and designing newsletters
  • Reviewing activity reports and follow-up with the CAR country office
  • Networking and representing the organization and the CEO at meetings and events

The Executive Assistance may also be asked to help plan events for the International Mediators Community of Practice (IMCP), a network of conflict resolution practitioners led by CIT.

 

 

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate will be a bi-lingual (French and English) conflict resolution, mediation and/or restorative justice practitioner with impeccable administrative skills, exhibiting the following talents:

  • Must love "to-do" lists
  • Discreet, trustworthy, quick but meticulous
  • Demonstrates a strong sense of confidentiality
  • Self-driven towards excellence
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • USG contracting and regulation knowledge a plus
  • Proven experience as an executive assistant or other relevant administrative support experience
  • Ability to organize a daily workload by priorities and use time efficiently
  • Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced quickly changing environment
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills
  • Professional level verbal and written communications skills
  • High degree of computer literacy and attention to detail
  • Excellent writer and highly organized
  • Fluent in French and English (oral and written) mandatory
  • Conflict resolution experience required

 

 

Educational Background

  • University degree
  • 3-4 years administrative or office management experience
  • Conflict resolution, mediation and/or restorative justice experience
