Job Description

CIT is seeking an experienced INGO certified accountant to establish and manage the organization's financial systems. This is a part-time position that will require a lot of front-end work and continuous monitoring once financial systems are in place. The following work will be requested on an as needed basis:

  • Manage the accounting and bookkeeping for the organization's headquarters and overseas programs for a total of 5 staff
  • Create financial reports and financial forecasts
  • Donor budget monitoring
  • File quarterly and year-end-taxes
  • Provide audit recommendations to ensure that financial practices meet donor specifications and requirements.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Accounting or related degree
  • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) certified
  • 3-4 years experience managing the financial systems of an organization and auditing small businesses
  • Proven knowledge of USG-funding compliant chart of accounts, foreign currencies and exchanges and project financial monitoring using QBO
  • INGO grant funding experience a must
  • Knowledge of USG 2 CFR 200 rules and regulation compliance
  • US tax code for S-Corporations and Non-profits preferred
  • Payroll management experience preferred
  • Bilingual (French and English) preferred
