Dr. Jacqueline H. Wilson has worked internationally for over three decades.

She worked for the U.S. Institute of Peace for more than decade conducting conflict resolution training programs, projects, and research in over 25 countries. She specializes in customary conflict resolution, legitimacy and inclusion, and local peace processes. She observed elections in Sudan and Kenya, conducted election violence prevention programs, and taught courses on preventing electoral violence.  She has published about restorative justice, transitional justice, local peace processes, and most recently, ‘twisted’ legitimacy.

Before USIP, she served in the US Air Force and Air Force reserve, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel.

In the US, Dr. Wilson is part of an initiative called Building Bridges that works to build relationships between divided communities. She consults with organizations seeking to improve their cultural effectiveness. Jacki is part of Emerge Virginia’s 2017 cohort and is active in local civic affairs.

A community college graduate, she earned her doctorate in Liberal Studies from Georgetown University and is affiliated with George Mason University’s School of Conflict Analysis and Resolution. Jacki lives in Arlington, Virginia.
